Don't Let Us in the Kitchen Ep. 1

SuperCait and I thought we would take the time and teach you how to cook something. We are so thoughtful.

Let's go back in time a bit...

As you may know, JY and I went to St. Thomas this past May. I've been meaning to post a video of when we went snorkeling, but I'm lazy. But now that I have returned to OH and am still stupidly sick, I have become productive. Today alone, I renewed my driver's license, went to the mall to buy my face stuff, went to the post office, cooked some birthday brownies for the mama and I finished a short compilation video of a bunch of clips from videos taken on the USVI trip....Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you VACATION TIME! Warning: devoni has never done this before and apologizes that she has no skills.

Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaain! And lightning hits giant Jesus!

Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain!

And the sad, sad news.
As soon as I opened Yahoo this morning I got the headline, "Touchdown Jesus" Destroyed by Lightning.
I'll miss that crazy statue.

A "WACKY" Time at Gma's

Last week, I found myself gettin' my groove on at Gma's...meaning I slept, ate, and watched TV for 5 days straight. Yes! As old person life became predictable and mundane, life threw a pinata filled with delectable delicacies my way...a WACKY MAC commercial.

Healthy eating made FUN! Sweet.

I also broke free of the old person lifestyle and watched a bunch of little kids at my Aunt's daycare one day.

Boy, little kids sure are artistic.

I Need More Allowance

Lately, I have been really into beets. Anywhere I go to eat, I try to find beets on the menu. Tonight I am headed to a restaurant that I know has some of the best roasted beets in town, so I am getting super excited.

All this talk of beets, however, reminds me of one of the the best made-for-TV bands ever---and they aren't even in 3 dimensions!

The Beets:

The Beets are Doug Funny's favorite band of all time. My sister and I used to watch the original Doug on Nickelodeon all the time. This was back when the "classics" like Clarissa Explains it All and Salut Your Shorts were on, also. Used to love that network so much.

Weird Aisle = International for St. Louis

Another 'Wacky Mac' sighting, but this time in St. Louis...

I'm just curious as to why St. Louis thinks Wacky Mac belongs between Potato Latke mix and Matzo Meal. I don't remember having Wacky Mac at either Hanukkah or Passover this year...maybe that's the equivalent to fasting on Yom Kippur for St. Louians.

Cat Rodeo

So this weekend I got to see my sister for the first time since Halloween weekend, when she came back east to take me to a concert for my birthday. We met up with her in St. Louis for my cousin's wedding. The wedding was fun, but I was more excited about seeing my sister. Seeing her, however, always reminds me of the really odd things we did as kids. That being said, in my searches for cat pictures on google, I came across this photo:

One of the games that every kid with a sibling plays is some version of 'rodeo.' I've heard it referred to as 'horsey' (by the kids I used to babysit), as well. Let me break it down: One kid sits on the other kid, pretending to be riding a horse.

My sister and I were not into horses, so this game lost its appeal pretty fast. However, we realized that we could revolutionize this game for cat lovers around the world by simply adding the word 'cat' to the title and using a bit of imagination. Thus, we pretended to be riding cats, rather than horses and had hours more fun than all the other kids playing the standard version.

I Was at a Wedding Today

And just at the end, another man came up and declared that that woman was his. And it actually all went quite civilly until both the other man and the bride disappeared.

So then the groom started to marry another woman. Until his bride came back and then went off to talk.

So because of that, the priest decided to marry the 2nd bride, and some bystander became the priest. And those two lived happily ever after.

Yes, I was playing Pigg. It might not be legally binding, but it was epic.
Yes, yes I do live a very sad and disconnected life.

And on the oft-forgotten 8th day

I passed a billboard today for the Creation Museum in Kentucky. It was just a picture of a fire-breathing dragon.

That's right everyone, God also created fire-breathing dragons. A little known fact.

"The Weird Aisle"

JY and I returned from vacation last night and slept to an unreasonable hour today. We ventured out for some Dim Sum and then made a stop at the grocery store to find some cookie ice cream sandwich things because I wanted one...instead, we stumbled upon what JY dubbed "The Weird Aisle." Here are a couple of items you may be interested in purchasing:

You might find yourself in the mood for some mac 'n' cheese, in which case why don't you go ahead and grab yourself a box of WACKY MAC!

Or maybe you are feeling a bit more conservative. If that's the case, pick yourself up a can of U.S. Senate Bean Soup.

Avoiding LOST Spoilers

So, I opted to go to a concert last night instead of watching the LOST series finale. The band was amazing (Crash Kings) and even told the crowd how awesome they were for coming out on the night LOST was coming to a close. Here is their semi-creepy new video that makes me nervous for their equipment:

Despite the fact that the concert was awesome, I'm finding being on the internet increasingly difficult today, as I am trying to avoid LOST spoilers. I'm super excited to watch it later today sans commercials, though, so I definitely think going to the concert was a great idea!

Right now the weather is not so hot, and I am super jealous because I just got a text message that Devoni landed in St. Thomas for her long, relaxing vacation. I would love to be lounging on the beach right now getting tan. Well, today should be a good day anyway! Here I come, Ben Linus!

Baby Carrots Can Be Frightening

Like this double long. Weird baby carrots freak me out. I don't like to eat them.

Job Interviewitus

It seems that whenever I have a job interview, the God of Weather decides to mark the occasion with a downpour of joyous tears---or perhaps tears of pain for my possible future employer. I'm not complaining though. Though my clothes are damp, my hair tousled and frizzy, I still somehow manage to succeed.

For the Love of Coffee

So, I am hoping this blog doesn't have to be all about cats. Don't get me wrong, cats are totally my thing, but I am drinking coffee right now, and it's darn good, and that makes me want to write about it. I think what makes it the best, though, is that fact that I'm drinking it from an 'Aquarius' mug, which always reminds me of my two favorite people!

All for now!
